We envision a society where every human feels safe, valued, and respected, allowing them to live the fullest life possible. Their heightened awareness of the prevalence of domestic violence in Maricopa County prompted the group to attend a chamber of commerce committee in 1986 where members of the community indicated a need for services for victims and their children. When it became clear no other group would take the lead in establishing a shelter on the westside of the county, the Soroptomist group decided to take action and establish a shelter on their own under the name \u201cNew Life Shelter\u201d the next year. Angela has also worked in numerous human services capacities, including as a domestic violence advocate, transitional housing case manager director, and mobile crisis response. His leadership supports New Life Center\u2019s efforts to provide safety, healing, and hope to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Throughout her career, she has held executive leadership positions and has also consulted on special projects for numerous nonprofit agencies, providing expertise in social enterprise, fundraising and strengthening organizational infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Kate currently serves as Chief Executive Officer at New Life Center, one of Arizona\u2019s largest domestic violence shelters. Prior to joining New Life Center, she served as Executive Director of Waste Not, Chief Social Enterprise Officer at UMOM New Day Centers, and Director of Community Kitchen Programs at St. Mary\u2019s Food Bank Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her executive leadership experience, Kate teaches Social Entrepreneurship, Innovation and New Business Models, and Becoming a Champion of Change through Arizona State University&#8217;s Nonprofit Management Institute. She is an active community leader with extensive board governance experience and currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for AZ Impact for Good.<\/p>\n<p>Kate is recognized for
